Meg John Barker
Meg John Barker is a senior lecturer in psychology at the Open University and a practising psychotherapist. Meg John is co-editor of the journal Psychology & Sexuality and co-organiser of the Critical Sexology seminar series and Sense about Sex. They have co-edited two collections of research on sexuality research: Safe, Sane and Consensual: Contemporary Perspectives on Sadomasochism with Palgrave and Understanding Non-monogamies with Routledge.
Meg John’s research focuses on bisexual, openly non-monogamous and sadomasochistic communities, identities and relationships, and they are more broadly interested in cultural ideals around relationships, gender and sexuality. They also publish on counselling and psychotherapy (particularly existential, mindfulness and sociocultural approaches).
